this is eric.

If you haven't met the owner and creative visionary of Neat Bird, meet Eric Nelson. Raised in Suffolk, Virginia, Eric has always really loved a home-cooked meal. And bar foods. And whiskey drinks. It was only natural to bring all of that together in a creative way, making it a perfect storm for his second restaurant, Neat Bird. If you've been to crudo nudo in Ghent, you'll likely be shocked at the contrast between the two restaurants, but we're sure that you'll love them both. Part of being a chef is being able to be multi-faceted and adapt to different cuisines and ways of thinking, so we think Eric is like an onion. You keep peeling back layers and getting more great things out of him.

If you're wondering which meal is his favorite, it's the Old School Chicken Sandwich, because Neat Bird is making them from scratch just like you used to get on your tray in high school - except for way better. Eric was nice to the lunch ladies, so they'd give him two instead of one. Winner winner chicken patty dinner.

Regardless, Neat Bird isn't about Eric. It's about the best fried chicken that you'll find in Chesapeake. We're glad to be serving it up next to really amazing drinks and other food offerings that you and your family and friends and enemies will all love. If you're big into drinking whiskey, you're in luck, too. After all, it says chicken AND whiskey on the sign.
